County ag land valuations to increase in 2020

In a regular meeting Tuesday morning, Pierce County Commissioners voted for a 3 percent increase in agricultural land values per acre for 2020.

The values will increase to $816.10 per acre for crop land, $179.60 per acre for non-crop land and $674.50 per acre for agricultural land.

In a memo to county tax equalization directors, Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger provided estimates per acre on a state and countywide basis as computed by the North Dakota State University's agribusiness and applied economics department. On a statewide basis, the estimated average value per acre for ag lands is $676.20 for 2020.

Other actions

- The board approved a motion authorizing board chair Dave Migler, Auditor Karin Fursather and State's Attorney Galen Mack to sign a bridge inspection and load rating service agreement with the North Dakota Department of Transportation.

- The board approved an abatement application for Wayne & Mabel Jensen.

- The board approved a transfer of $4,000 from the county's general fund to the community service program.

- The board approved January meeting minutes, bills and financial statements, Treasurer's checks, the 2019 year-end financials, and Heart of America Correctional & Treatment Center bills and financials.
