Rugby High School Panther cross country runners finished among the top teams at Cooperstown Country Club Saturday for the Cooperstown Invitational, continuing a trend for the season.

Coach Bill Jansen described the event in the east-central part of the state as "another small meet because of the rain. The kids ran well and handled the elements very well."

Rugby varsity girls placed first among nine teams in their 5000-meter event with 32 total finish time points.

"Quinn Neppl was our top runner again and ran a good race," Jansen noted. "Brooklyn Bartsch and Amelia Shepard had good races as well."
