Little Flower Academy Days

July 26, 2019
Pierce County Tribune

Little Flower School is excited to share with you the big news that their staff has been working on for our community youth for the 2019-2020 school year.

You may have heard that the public school will not be having school for students one Wednesday a month next year; however Little Flower will hold school for their students and students of their parish and community. Little Flower School will be having "Little Flower Academy Days"! These days will be project based learning days in which students will be intermixed in groups consisting of Little Flower Students and students from our parish and community. Academy days will all be STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) project-based learning days that will run from 9:00 AM to 3:15 PM and will be free of charge for Little Flower students with a cost of $25 per day for parish and community students. Lunch will be included.

August 28th "Gears, Gadgets, and Gizmos"

September 25th "Destination Investigation"

October 23rd "Candy Chemistry"

December 11th "Creative Christmas Collaboration"

February 19th "Amazing AD-Ventures"

March 25th "Star Gazers"

April 22nd "Engineering Einsteins"

Registration for the August 28th Session will begin on August 6th. For the first session Little Flower School will be accepting the following additional parish and community students with the hope of increasing with each session.

Grades K-1 10 students

Grades 2-4 15 students

Grades 5-6 15 students

To register you can visit Little Flower's website at www.little-flower.k12.nd.us or call the school at 776-6258.

Little Flower will also be implementing FOCUS (Follow One's Course until Successful) time for each student Monday-Thursday this school year. Students will break out for 30 minutes of intense instruction time at their individual level each day. Students who may need a little extra help to get to grade level in reading and math will receive direct instruction on the skills they need to be successful. Students who are on grade level will work on skills that are identified to help them reach higher levels of learning. The students who are identified as "advanced" will work on enrichment projects. This is non-graded time focused on meeting the unique individual needs of their students. Registration for the 2019-2020 school year at Little Flower School will be held on August 6th or you can call 701-776-6258 to register at any time.
