Gerald Nickolas Muffenbier

Gerald Nickolas Muffenbier, 45, died in Fargo, North Dakota on Monday, April 8, 2019. He was born to Larry Michael and Diane Genevieve Axtman Muffenbier in Euless, Texas on May 24, 1973. He and his parents moved to Balta, North Dakota in 1976 where he went to Balta School for 11 years. He graduated from Rugby High School in 1991. He joined the United States Navy in September , 1991 and served on the aircraft carrier USS Constellation CV64. After two years of service he returned to North Dakota and attended Lake Region College at Devils Lake. He moved to Fargo in 1997 and

worked for Pactiv Industries for 20 years. He dedicated many hours watching movies, reading, texting friends, and repairing vintage collector cars in his spare time.

He is survived by his parents at Balta, his brother Kevin (Toni) in West Fargo, nieces Taylor and Jordan Muffenbier and nephew Jesse Muffenbier, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mike and Johanna Muffenbier, Nick and Brigetta Axtman, un-cles Gerald Muffenbier, Pat Kramer, Ron Lam-phear, and aunts Marlene Lamphear, Joan Muffenbier and Mary Ann Muffenbier.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Balta. Burial followed in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Detail. Visitation was on Friday from 3-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation was also at the church one hour before the service. Brad and Randy Axtman, Jeff and Jeremy Bickler, Vern Halvorson, and Dave Muffenbier served as casket bearers.
