Marvin Dale Kraft

Feb. 26, 1947 - Feb. 7, 2019

Marvin Dale Kraft, son of Peter M and Annie Merle (Grieb) Kraft, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the age of 71, in Tyler, Texas.

Marv was born on February 26, 1947 in Rugby, North Dakota, attended grade school there and graduated from Rugby High School, in the class of 1965. He joined the US Navy in October 1965 and on September 9, 1967, married his high school sweetheart Gloria Jane Schneider, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Orrin, ND. The couple made their first home in Virginia Beach, VA following their marriage. Marv served in Fighter Squadron Forty-One until his honorable discharge in Sep-tember 1971, when they moved to Norman, Oklahoma and had their daughter Michele Marie Kraft on May 8, 1973.

In 1977, the family moved to Helena, Montana. Marv, an avid outdoorsman enjoyed every opportunity to experience life in Montana. He spent many weekends with friends and family hunting, fishing, skiing, golfing, and horseback riding. He served as a volunteer for Lewis & Clark Search & Rescue for over 20 years as an Assistant Search Coordinator and obtained his PADI Divemaster Certification in 1983 to lead

water rescues. Marv worked for Montana State Fund until his retirement in 2008. After retirement, he and Gloria enjoyed traveling to visit family and moved to Tyler, Tex-as in 2014 in search of warmer weather for year-round golfing.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Gloria; his daughter, Michele (Chris) Fuller; his 2 granddaughters, Ava Fuller and Vivian Fuller of Maplewood, NJ; his sister Arlene (Alex) Schweitzer of Jamestown, ND; and 2 brothers, Carlan (Robbi) Kraft of Bismarck, ND and Dennis (Marilee) Kraft of Marshall, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial of cremated remains will take place at the Mandan Veteran's Cemetery. Date and time are still to be determined.
