The Northern Lights team placed first in the region Golf competition for girls. Rugby took second and Dunseith placed third.

In the boys golf competition, two competitors qualified for state golf last week at a regional qualifier at the Vardon golf course in Minot. Panther Brock Haakenson, from Rugby, was one of the qualifiers. The other was Matt Hendrickson, a Knight from Our Redeemer's Christian School in Minot.

Haakenson shot a 76, going four strokes over par. He joins Hendrickson (who shot a 71) at the State Tournament May 29 and 30th in Mapleton at the Maple Valley Golf Course.

The Rugby Panther's boys golf team did not qualify for participating in the State Tournament this year.
