Carol I. Solem

Carol I. Solem- 84 Rugby, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, Jan 31st at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND. She was born to John & Amanda (Anderson) Schiele on September 10th, 1933. She was raised and educated in Towner, ND.

Carol was married to Lawrence Grove, raised 4 children in Rugby, ND. Bonnie Tapson, Terry (Connie) Grove of Rugby, Larry Grove of Tucson, AZ, Susan Grove of Tuc-

son, AZ. They later divorced and a several years later Carol married Nick Beste and remained together until his death. Later in life, Carol married Earl Solem, they later dissolved their marriage. Carol loved her plants and could often be seen outside tending to them. She also enjoyed baking especially baking for others. She was known for her homemade buns, caramel rolls, and "Carol's caramels". Most of all Carol loved spending time with her friends and family, making cookies with her grandkids and especially her foot rubs.

Carol is survived by her sons, Terry (Connie) Grove, Rugby and Larry Grove, Tucson, AZ; daughter, Susan Grove, Tucson, AZ; a son-in-law, Bob Tapson, Langdon;

Grandchildren Tara (Tyler) Schilke of Bismarck, Lyndsey (Mike) Graner of Rugby, Carrie Grove of Bismarck, Channon Tapson of Fargo, Sarah Evenson of Rugby and David (Tokiko) Bopp; Great grandchildren, Destani, Jayden, Tenshi Sakura Bopp; Summer Duursma; Mckenzie, Elizabeth and Andrew Schilke; Ally and Luke Graner; and Christina Evenson; 3 great-great, grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Bonnie Tapson, brothers Ivan & Kenneth Schiele, Sisters Helen Stucy, Mavis Schiele, Violet Beckett-Gessner and Norma Holmes.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, February 9th in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel, Rugby. Father Tom Graner, was the officiate.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for the exceptional care bestowed upon Carol to the following: Rugby Emergency Medical Service, HAMC Medical

Center and Johnson Clinic, White Drug Pharmacy, Social Services, Community Action, Good Samaritan Center in Devils Lake, Anderson Funeral Home and to Carol's
