Fred John Selensky Sr.

Mar. 30, 1922 - Jan. 17, 2018

Fred John Selensky, Sr. was born March 30, 1922 at Orrin, in Pierce County, North Dakota, to Ben and Barbara (Hilzendager) Selensky.

He grew up in Pierce County and attended school in rural Rugby. He married Eva Koble on April 3, 1961 in Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby. He and Eva farmed and raised their family northeast of Rugby. When they retired, they moved into Rugby. Fred has since resided at the Haaland Home Estates and HAMC Long Term Care Center. He was a member of Little Flower Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Fred had a great love for music through his life. He was part of a band with three of his brothers for many years. He played the accordion. Their musical talents

brought much joy to many people. In addition to his love for music, Fred's children and grandchildren were the center of his life.

Survivors include his three daughters, Bernadette and husband, Perry Erdmann Minot, and Beverly and husband, Keith Jensen Bottineau, and Bonnie and husband,

Vince Mattern Rugby; one son, Fred Selensky, Jr and wife, Laura (Jacobs) Bismarck. Three grandsons: Chris and wife, Kayla Erdmann Mandan, Jake and wife, Jessi Erdmann - Minot, and Matthew Selensky - Bismarck. seven grand-daughters: Rachael Mattern - Minneapolis, Ashley and husband, Michael Houim Minot, Miranda and husband, Michael Schaan Fargo, Karissa and husband, Joe Berg Bottineau, Kelsey Jensen Bottineau Eva and Ella Selensky - Bismarck. Five great grandchildren: Abby, Leo & Rosalie Schaan, Bryleigh Erdmann, and Karina Houim. Two brothers: James and wife Bernice Selensky Rugby, Edward and wife Elaine Selensky Rugby. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Eva, four brothers John, Joe, Steve, and Jacob. Four sisters Mary, Katherine, Frances, and Theresa and his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, January 22nd at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with spring burial in the church cemetery. Father Tom Graner, Celebrant.
