Kathleen Ann Halvorson

May 1, 1955 - Jan. 31, 2017

Kathleen Ann Sullivan daughter of Michael and Maurine Sullivan was born May 1, 1955 in Waco, Texas. She died January 31, 2017 at her home in Whitewater, Wisconsin. She spent her childhood in Idaho Falls, ID andBartlesville, OK. She graduated from Oklahoma State with a BS In mathematics and from UW- Madison with an MS in mathematics. Kathleen and Richard Halvorson of Rugby, ND were married June 25, 1977. They moved to Whitewater, WI in 1978 and this remained their current home. Blessed with three children Eric (Beth), Rebecca (Derek) Lahr, and Tristan (Laura).

Kathy taught math in Oklahoma (1 yr) and Jefferson, WI (2 yrs). She taught math and computer science at UW- Whitewater (17 yrs) and Johnson Creek, WI (15 yrs).

Kathy loved working with the 4-H nature loving members, teaching Sunday School, and volunteering at First English Lutheran Church and the FELC women's group. After retirement, she continued her passion for education by teaching beginning computer skills for the Jefferson Literacy Council. Her hobbies were reading, cooking,

camping, biking, sewing, quilting, and traveling. She is preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Lester Halvorson, sister-in-law Nancy Due, and a step father-in-law Mel Blessum. She is survived by the love of her life Rick; three children and their spouses; grandson Ben; five siblings Timothy (Diane) Sullivan of Arizona,

Christine (William) Bowlin of Minnesota, Kevin (Jonetta) Sullivan of Arkansas, Susan (Matt) Dickey of Nebraska, and Paul (Tracie) of Texas; Mother-in-law Norma

Blessum of Rugby; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews; and many extended family members.

Memorials can be sent to First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater, WI and Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek, WI.
