The volleyball season is over for the Rugby Panthers.

The Panthers fell to the Our Redeemer's Christian School Knights in three sets in the championship round of the Region 6 Volleyball Tournament last week at the Minot Municipal Auditorium.

The Knights had control of the first set. In the second the Panthers were able to get an early lead, but the Knights were able to recover. The third set was a tight contest.

The Knights came away with all three sets; 25-13, 25-21 and 25-23.

Maria Blessum led the Panthers in both kills (10) and digs (22) on the evening. Sara Stier and Brianna Leier had a combined four service aces between the two of them. Jacque Blessum led in blocks (5), and Alissa Volk led in assists (10).

To get to the championship round, the Panthers defeated the Bishop Ryan Lions in three sets, and won three of four sets against the Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers. The Knights, meanwhile, lobbed off the Towner-Granville-Upham Titans in round one (3-0) and won three of four sets against Lewis & Clark-Berthold to get to the championship round.

The Panthers won the District 11 tournament, defeating the Titans in three sets and the Bottineau Stars in three sets to advance to the region tournament.
