October 27, 2017
Pierce County Tribune

The birds are the word.

Only two Class A 11-man football teams from Region 2 remain in the postseason after last week: The Langdon Area-Munich Cardinals and the Carrington Cardinals.

Langdon Area survived its first playoff test by blanking the visiting Kindred Vikings, 31-0.

Carrington, meanwhile, survived their home playoff opener, winning over the Oak Grove Grovers by just a score (20-14).

Both the Harvey-Wells County Hornets and the Westhope-Newburg-Glenburn Sioux were eliminated from contention last week. The Sioux lost, 37-8, to the Hillsboro-Central Valley Burros in Buxton, and the Hornets lost, 49-24, to the Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm Thunder in Edgeley.

Langdon Area will host the Thunder at 2 p.m. today in Langdon. Carrington and the Burros clash tonight at 6 p.m. in Hillsboro.
