City approves elevator variance

June 16, 2017
Pierce County Tribune

In a special meeting Wednesday evening, the Rugby City Council approved a construction variance request for the Farmers Union Elevator.

Ward 4 Councilwoman Sue Steinke said that when the Planning & Zoning Board met Monday they recommended the variance pass.

The council also approved:

- A re-zoning of outlot 5 of lots 7 and 8, block 1 Sveum's Division from R2 to C2. Steinke abstained from voting as the land is owned by her son-in-law.

- Gaming site authorizations for the Rugby Jaycees (21, poker and pull tabs at 3rd Street Station and I.C. Dubbles) and the Rugby Amateur Hockey Association (pull tabs at Dakota Farms; Bingo, raffles, pull tabs and paddlewheel table at Northside Lounge).
