Lois O. Parkman

Sept. 13, 1921- Feb. 5, 2017

Lois Octavia Parkman, age 95, died peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017, at St. Andrew's Hospital in Bottineau, ND. Lois was born to Fred and Augusta Arason in Edinburg, ND, and cherished her Icelandic heritage. After attending Minot State College, Lois married James (Bud) Parkman, and they raised their four children in Rugby, ND. Lois passed through life with much love, happiness and laughter, enjoying travels in Europe and many wonderful cruises with her children and her late sister, Dorothy Thomasson. Lois lived her life to the fullest and was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She was a talented painter, writer and avid reader.

Lois is survived by her four children, Connie (Jim) Johnston, Jeff (Jan) Parkman, John (Kathi) Parkman, Peggy (John) Gregg; grandchildren, Chris McGuire (Dawn Krysan), Michael McGuire, Arason Parkman, Marissa Parkman, PJ (Mallory) Cook, Anthony Cook, Katie (Andy) Thomas, Mark Gregg, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Bud, her sisters Aileen Jaehning and Dorothy Thomasson and granddaughter Tricia Brooks.

Lois was the embodiment of kindness and unconditional love and will remain in our hearts forever.
