Court is now in session

Kelli Ann Birdhorse, of Fort Totten, pleaded guilty to ingesting a controlled substance and failure to appear as a witness/produce information-both Class A misdemeanors. She was ordered to complete a chemical dependency evaluation and treatment and pay $325 in fees. She was sentenced to 360 days' confinement at the Heart of America Correctional & Treatment Center with 318 days suspended and 42 days' credit for time served on one charge and 345 days suspended and 15 days' credit on the other; and two years unsupervised probation. Other misdemeanor charges against Birdhorse, including refusing to halt and possession of drug paraphernalia, were dismissed.

Travis Lynn Delorme's (Belcourt) Class B misdemeanor charge of driving while license privilege is suspended was dismissed.

Great Plains Food Bank coming to Rugby

The Great Plains Food Bank will be coming to Rugby Monday, Feb. 13, from 11 a.m. until gone to distribute fruit, vegetables, meats, shelf-stable items and much more. All in need of food assistance are welcome, with no referrals necessary. Participants are asked to bring plastic bags or boxes.The event will take place in the parking lot of the old Gooseneck Implement location, 1/4 of a mile west of the Envision convenience store on U.S. Highway 2.

Registration open for the International Music Camp

Registration is now open for the 62nd Season of the International Music Camp. Founded in 1956, The International Music Camp Summer School of Fine Arts offers a wide array of cultural study for students and adults. In weekly sessions, students of all ages gain concentrated knowledge in their particular area of interest in Music, Dance, Creative Writing, Visual Arts, Theatre, and several other Fine Arts disciplines. A staff of 150+ artist-teachers, internationally noted guest conductors, and outstanding clinicians from the United States and Canada provide instruction to students from around the world.

Campers can register by going to the International Music Camp website at www.internationalmusiccamp.com and clicking on the "Registration Info" button at the top of the page or by calling the IMC Winter office at 701-838-8472. Early Bird Pricing of $400.00 USD for the basic tuition remains in effect until May 1, 2017. After May 1, 2017, the normal tuition rate of $415.00 USD applies. Some programs have additional fees and private lessons are offered for music programs. Campers are encouraged to register early as some programs and sessions do fill up. Passports are not required to get in and out of the International Peace Garden, but are the recommended form of identification. Passports will be required for US citizens to travel to Canada and for Canadians to enter the US.
