Ely Elementary is excited to announce that the Gearing Up for Kindergarten program is scheduled to start on Tuesday, November 8. There are a total of ten evenings planned and each session will begin at 6:00 and run through 7:30 p.m. The first 45 minutes of each evening will be dedicated time for parents and children to learn together through stations of games, experiments, and projects, as well as circle time for reading a book and doing an activity together. During the second 45 minutes, adults will go to a parent education sessions while each child will stay in the classroom and do activities with the teachers and other children.
There are a variety of informational parenting topics (Brain Development, Importance of Sleep, Social-Emotional Development, etc.) that will be covered during the course of the year. The sessions are offered as a series and we encourage you and your child to attend all ten sessions.
Ely Elementary is located at 207 2nd St SW. You will want to come in the west doors of the school. Each session of the Gearing Up for Kindergarten program will be held in the kindergarten classrooms, walk straight in and go to the first three rooms on the right.
