If you haven't noticed we've been short a writer here at the Pierce County Tribune. I cannot thank Bryce Berginski for stepping it up or Edie Wurgler enough for stepping in and covering when needed, which was regularly! With that, I am happy to announce that I have brought in one of my own Ohio University fellow graduates Carisssa Mavec! I'm thrilled to have her and have enjoyed talking to her over the last week - reminiscing of the gorgeous Athens, Ohio, campus. I even had to yell up the stairs one day, "OH" to hear an "IO" back!
If you happen to see Carissa out and about, please give her a warm welcome to Rugby!

Carissa Nicole Mavec. I'm 22. I was born and raised in Cleveland, OH. I love to sing and dance - I have been dancing since I was about five years old on two different dance teams, one of which I was the director while in college. I'm a cancer survivor. I will always be an Ohio University BOBCAT! ;) You can most find me either watching Netflix or eating ice cream. I love to smile. My favorite sport to watch is football (go Steelers!), and my favorite sport to play is bowling (I was varsity captain all four years of high school). I have one sister who looks just like me, even though she's eight years older. I love cats and polar bears. I love to travel (Tennessee, Disney World, and London are my favorite places I have been). I absolutely LOVE Walmart, it's kind of disgusting how much. I worked there for two summers while in college, and I shopped there daily when it was only ten minutes away!
