Liston Grider
Funeral services will be held today at 10:00 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby for Liston Mac "Sonny" Grider, 81, Bottineau, who died Sunday, July 8 at St. Andrew's Health Center, Bottineau.
Burial will be in Persilla Watts Cemetery in Rugby.
Liston was born August 28, 1930 in York, a son of Liston and Rosa (Hamilton) Grider. He grew up in York and attended school in Rugby. While attending high school, and for two years after that, he worked at Citizen's State Bank before moving to Lake Worth, Fla. On March 2, 1951, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Signal Corps before being honorably discharged on March 1, 1953. He then moved to New York City and became a bank examiner with the Federal Reserve. In 1983 he retired and moved to Towner. Later on he moved to Rugby, Willow City, and Bottineau.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews; a siste Lylis Christenson, Rugby; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lareene "Beanie" Bednarz and Lucille Hermanson.
Pastor Mike Pretzer will officiate. Burial will be done with military honors accorded by the Clarence Larson American Legion Post #23-Honor & Color Guard, Rugby, and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Detail.
